WHY JUNTO?

Philadelphia circa 1727, Benjamin Franklin organizes a group of his closest, most gregarious friends and some esteemed and (not so esteemed) colleagues to create a forum for open discussion… a discussion about all things... drinking is involved. The group, composed of twelve members, calls itself the Junto (Latin for meeting). The members of the Junto are drawn from diverse occupations and backgrounds, but they all share a spirit of inquiry and a desire to improve themselves, their community, and to help others.

Fast Forward 281 years… Tampa, Florida… A group of Architects and Interior Designers assemble to discuss projects, experiences, and design philosophies… again, drinking is involved. Very quickly, this group begins to express similar interests and points of view on how they see this great big world of design and construction. Through this conversation, they realize each member has different and unique strengths, experience. Very quickly the discussion turns from why to how. And just like that... OUR JUNTO FOR DESIGN IS CREATED!!

WHERE IT MATTERS?

JUNTO Philosophy… Community involvement + continuous self-improvement through collective forums for discussion, opinion + sometimes even a passionate debate. We feel there is a 'magic’ that happens when a team of like minded, curious people come together to share their knowledge, insight + expertise. Harnessing this shared energy and creativity ‘the whole’ becomes stronger. As a team, we are constantly improving design concepts + refining our processes while performing endless exploration of means + methods.

WHEN IT HAPPENS?

IT'S SIMPLE! We like to do good work with people that we enjoy and we have fun doing it. Sounds easy doesn’t it? Why shouldn’t it be? We feel that people engage us because they believe that we can make their vision a reality. It boils down to them trusting us to help them see their future. It’s a big responsibility and we know it. All of this is done to ensure unique + comprehensive project results complimenting the needs of each of our clients.

WHAT WE DO?

JUNTO Design Studio has been creating their collaborative design approach method for architecture + interior design since 2000, designing projects for a range of market sectors including: commercial, financial, mercantile, residential, religious, urban design, master planning, sustainable design + LEED consulting. Through diversity of completed project types in a variety of architectural styles, our studio is well suited to provide design solutions to reflect the intentions of our current and future clients.
